At WobeStudios, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to wobestudios.com, our WordPress site (blog & static pages), and our client web app (bookings, payments, dashboards), as well as any services that link to this policy.
Quick summary: We collect only what we need to run bookings, process payments, deliver your files, improve the studio, and keep things secure. We never sell your personal data.

A. Information you provide
- Contact & identity: name, email, phone, address, social handles.
- Account details (app): username, password (hashed), profile photo.
- Project info: creative briefs, references, scripts, lyrics, artwork, usage rights.
- Uploads: audio stems, photos, video files, documents.
- Payments: we receive payment status and identifiers; card data is processed by our payment partners (see Section 6).
- Communications: messages, emails, support requests, testimonials.
- Consents: model releases, recording consent, marketing preferences.
B. Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, session timestamps, referral URLs.
- Device/tech data: IP address, browser type, device type, OS, approximate location.
- Cookies & similar tech: for login, preferences, analytics, and security (see Section 8).
C. Information from third parties
- Payment processors: transaction confirmations, fraud signals.
- Social media integrations: if you choose to connect or share content.
- Marketing tools/partners: campaign performance, ad clicks, conversions.
3) Why we collect it (lawful bases)
We process your data to:
- Provide services & fulfill contracts (bookings, sessions, edits, deliveries, invoices).
- Process payments & prevent fraud (via trusted processors).
- Operate, maintain & secure our site/app (debugging, backups, access logs).
- Improve services (analytics, feature usage, surveys).
- Communicate with you (project updates, support, policy changes).
- Marketing with consent/legitimate interests (newsletters, promos; you can opt out anytime).
- Legal compliance (tax, accounting, lawful requests).
Legal bases (where required): contract, consent, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and occasionally vital interests (safety).
4) How we use your content (audio, photo, video)
- Ownership: You retain rights to your creative content.
- License to complete work: You grant us a limited license to edit, mix, back up, and deliver your project.
- Portfolio use: We may request permission to feature excerpts in our portfolio/socials. We will only do this with your explicit written consent (model/appearance & sound releases as applicable).
- Confidential work: If your project is confidential (e.g., unreleased music, brand campaign), tell us in writing; we’ll treat it accordingly.
5) How we share information
We share data only with trusted parties necessary to run the studio:
- Payment processors: e.g., Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe (no card numbers stored by us).
- Hosting & infrastructure: VPS/cloud providers, content delivery networks (CDNs), backup services.
- Analytics & marketing tools: e.g., Google Analytics, Meta/TikTok ads (aggregated/usage data).
- Email & communications: email service providers, transactional mailers, chat/support tools.
- Vetted freelancers/contractors: engineers, editors, retouchers working under confidentiality agreements.
- Legal & compliance: auditors, accountants, law enforcement when required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
6) Payments
We use third-party processors to handle payments securely. When you pay, your payment card data is transmitted directly to the processor and is not stored on our servers. We receive confirmation of payment, transaction IDs, and fraud-screen results. See the privacy policies of your chosen processor (e.g., Paystack/Flutterwave/Stripe) for details.
7) Data retention
- Account & booking records: kept while your account is active and as required by law (e.g., 6 years for invoices/receipts—adjust to your jurisdiction).
- Project files (sessions, edits, finals): retained for 90 days after delivery unless you have a hosting plan with us. Long-term archiving is not guaranteed.
- Analytics & logs: typically 12–24 months (aggregated where possible).
We’ll delete or anonymize data when we no longer need it.
8) Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies/pixels for:
- Essential: login, session security, load balancing, consent preferences.
- Functional: remembering settings (language, player volume).
- Analytics: understanding usage to improve the site/app.
- Marketing (optional): measuring ad performance and retargeting.
You can manage cookies in our Cookie Banner/Settings and in your browser. Disabling essential cookies may break the app.
9) Your choices & rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Marketing: You can opt out of emails via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
10) Children’s privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including TLS encryption, firewalls, access controls, password hashing, and regular updates/backups. No method is 100% secure; please protect your account with a strong, unique password.
12) International transfers
If your data is processed outside your country, we use safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses, vendor due diligence) to protect it and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
13) Third-party links & integrations
Our site/app may link to third-party sites or embed services (maps, video players, social widgets). Their privacy practices are separate; review their policies before providing data.
14) WordPress & the client app (how they differ)
- WordPress (public site/blog): content pages, forms, comments; may use plugins for SEO, security, and caching.
- Client App (authenticated): bookings, uploads, invoices, project delivery; stricter session controls and role-based access.
Data may flow between WordPress and the app for Single Sign-On and a smooth experience (see our Terms for details).
15) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be announced via the site or by email to registered users.
